New FYLF Marketing and Communications Coordinator - Allie Modica

Modica Added to Boost Foundation Marketing

Allie Modica, a local product, comes to the Florida Youth Lacrosse Foundation after a strong playing career and sports marketing experience in both collegiate and professional sports.

A familiar face to the local South Florida lacrosse scene, Modica was a four time FHSAA girls lacrosse state champion hailing from the powerhouse of Vero Beach High School. She began her collegiate lacrosse career at the University of Connecticut before returning to the sunshine state to play at the Florida Institute of Technology (2014-2017). In her three years as a Panther, Modica was a three-time Division II All-South Region selection and two-time NCAA All American.

In 2016, while still a student, Modica interned with the Major League Lacrosse franchise, the Florida Launch, out of Boca Raton. As the professional team’s social media and content creator, Modica got hands-on experience working in a variety of areas including marketing, operations, merchandise, journalism and public relations. Modica stayed in the Boca area to pursue an MBA from FAU and was promoted within the Launch organization to Social Media and PR Specialist in 2018. Her time with the team saw the explosion of the team’s YouTube, Instagram and Twitter pages, all of which she organized and ran.

Allie’s passion for lacrosse pushed her into the collegiate coaching world in late 2018 when she began working with the Division II Saint Leo University women’s lacrosse program as the offensive coordinator. In two years with the team, Modica has taken over the attackers, midfielders and draw specialists to help develop the team from unranked in 2017, to a top 15 contender by season’s end in 2020, as released by the IWLCA poll.

Working with the Florida Youth Lacrosse Foundation Board, Allie will serve as an Advisory Board Member and Marketing/Communications Coordinator for the organization. Modica’s role will primarily include social and digital promotion of Foundation events, and community as well as public relations.
